Blue glass vase with dried branches

Open anyone’s kitchen drawer and you will find a small museum: a chipped mug kept for sentimental reasons, a key to a door that no longer exists, a rubber band ball that has been growing since some unremembered year.

These objects are not curated. They accumulate. And maybe that is exactly why they tell the truth about a person more reliably than the things chosen to be seen.
